While we've already had a chance to test a few of Mercedes' latest goodies (which you'll hear about in the coming months: C-Class. E-Class and the SLK-Class), but it seems they aren't quite done with the presents yet for 2012.

Starting with the E-Class; Mercedes-Benz will offer the E350 Coupe and Cabriolet and the 4MATIC Wagon with a new 3.5-litre direct-injection V6. This new engine will push out 302 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. Sitting atop new 17”, twin 5-spoke wheels, this entry-level E350, appearing in July, is set to be quite the looker with the power to match. By October, we'll start to see the new E550 Coupe, Cabriolet and 4MATIC Sport models outfitted with the new 4.6-litre, twin-turbo, direct-injection V8 with 402hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.

Something we're uber excited about: The debut of the E63 AMG Wagon will debut with the same 4.6-litre twin-turbo engine. You can bet we'll be behind the wheel of this one as soon as is humanly possible.

It seems the G55 AMG is taking a hiatus and instead Mercedes is pushing their G550 which will continue to house the previous-gen 5.5-litre V8 powerhouse.

Moving into the crossover lineup, the R350 4MATIC will also sport Mercedes' new direct-injection V6 engine and a more fuel-efficient 7-speed automatic transmission coupled with their standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

Of course, with gas prices on the rise as well as our concerns over the environment, automakers everywhere are taking whatever steps they can towards engineering more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles. Mercedes is no exception with their BlueTEC, clean-diesel models.

For 2012, Mercedes-Benz is introducing a new model, the S350 BlueTEC 4MATIC which will feature standard AWD and will come equipped with a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine that will push out 240 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque (gotta love that diesel torque). And, while not an entirely new model, the S550 will sport a new 4.6-litre direct-injection V8 that'll produce 429 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.

2012 will also see features like advance driver assistance systems (Distronic Plus, PRE-SAFE Brake, Active Lane Keeping, Nightview Assist, etc.), a new standard COMAND system with hard-drive navigation and enhanced voice control as well as LED DRL lights and new steering wheel design.

Overall, it looks like 2012 will see what drives Mercedes changing the most – and let's hope it keeps them headed in the right direction.
